Stepping Numbers
I am a bit of a numbers geek at times, so of course, I like to look a little closer at some of the numbers behind the individual days.
First up is the highest day for the week which was Saturday with a total of 18,080 steps. While the lowest day was Wednesday with a total of 15,188 steps.
I hit my daily step goal a total of 7 times this week and walked a total of 112,786 steps. Giving me an average of 16,112 steps per day across the week. With my steps this week that gives me 4,278,120 steps for the year to date.
This Time Last Year
Looking back to Week 37 of 2018, following are some of the step numbers for comparison. I walked a total of 129,459 steps with an average of 18,494 steps per day. The highest day was 20,519 and the lowest day was 15,825. To read more check out Walking Update – Week 37, 2018.
Other Thoughts
I know it is something that I have talked about before and never really got to, but I want to try and beat some of my past records. The highest day, week and month for steps is still standing from October 2015. The highest steps was 30,321 on the 29th of October 2015. While the same week as the high steps, week 44, was also my highest week with 167,174 steps. The month of October 2015 is also the highest for steps with 602,989.
To beat the high steps I would just need to pick a day and do some serious walking. It is likely that I would need to try and work on making the same week the high week. Since to beat that 167,174 I would need to average over 24,000 per day. The week that I set that record I had one day over 30,000 steps and 2 days over 27,000 steps and six of the total days were over 20,000 steps.
When it comes to the month, there are definitely some months that will make this easier. For example, if I attempted this in February or the months with 30 days I would need to average over 20,000 steps a day. While a month with 31 days, brings the average needed down to 19,419 steps a day. So I am better to look at aiming for this either next month, December or January. I will just have to see what feels right and get started soon.
