Stepping Numbers
For over five years now, I have been tracking my steps daily and I enjoy looking over the numbers. This section breaks down some of those numbers from this week and cumulative for the year.
High & Low Days
The high day of the week with the most steps was Friday, with 22,408 steps.
The low day of the week with the least steps was Saturday, with 18,249 steps.
Weekly Totals
Throughout the week, I met my daily step target on 7 out of 7 days. I walked 140,400 steps for the week with an average of 20,057 steps per day for the week.
Year to Date
With the steps I have walked this week, I now have 1,330,408 steps for the year. That places me around 171,361 steps more than the same time last year. The goal for the year is 7 million steps. There is another 43 weeks to go, I need 5,669,592 steps or 131,850 steps per week.
This Time Last Year
I also find it interesting to look back to last year and see a comparison for the week and year to date progress.
So let’s look at the step details from week 10 in 2019. I walked 114,449 steps, giving me an average of 16,349 steps per day. Overall, I have walked 25,951 more steps this year.
The highest day for the week saw me walk, 18,227 steps a difference of 4,181 steps less than this year. While the lowest day for the week saw me walk, 15,054 steps a difference of 3,195 less than this year.

Other Thoughts
The last couple of weeks I have been a little below a daily average of 20,000 steps. Whether I am above or below the 20,000 steps per day mark does not bother me much. Daily I am more concerned with staying over 15,000 steps. But reaching that bit higher is good sometimes.
Week 10 has found me surpassing that 20,000 steps per day average again. That number puts me above the daily average of 20,000 steps for 5 of the 10 weeks this year.
One thing that helped me achieve my targets this week and push past 20,000 on at least two days was getting out to mow the lawn. Although it does not contribute a majority of the steps, it adds between 5-7 thousand. Across the day, if I still do my regular steps, this pushes me that bit over 20,000.
That is all that I have for you this week. I hope that you have found some nice spots for a walk and I look forward to sharing some with you soon.
