Stepping Numbers
I am a bit of a numbers geek at times, so of course, I like to look a little closer at some of the numbers behind the individual days.
First up is the highest day for the week which was Thursday with a total of 18,489 steps. While the lowest day was Sunday with a total of 15,040 steps.
I hit my daily step goal a total of 7 times this week and walked a total of 117,959 steps. Giving me an average of 16,851 steps per day across the week. With my steps this week that gives me 133,551 steps for the year to date.
This Time Last Year
Looking back to Week 1 of 2016, following are some of the step numbers for comparison. I walked a total of 121,375 steps with an average of 17,339 steps per day. The highest day was 22,236 and the lowest day was 15,645. To read more check out Walking Update – Week 1, 2016.
Other Thoughts
I took a few minutes to look back at one thing that I thought might be an interesting little statistic. That is which days tend to be more like the high and low day in the week for steps across the last year. While there was one clear leader for each through the week, it turned out to be much more evenly spread than I expected.
Friday turned out to be the day which I most often walked the most steps on in the last year. While Saturday was the day which I most often got the lowest steps for the day. In both instances, the occurrence was 11 times each. Below is a little table showing how many days each one occurred.
High | Low | |
Monday | 9 | 4 |
Tuesday | 9 | 5 |
Wednesday | 4 | 9 |
Thursday | 6 | 5 |
Friday | 11 | 8 |
Saturday | 6 | 11 |
Sunday | 7 | 9 |
Finally a word on the progress for the 15,000 steps per day streak, which is now up to 120 days in a row.
